There are 12 total scholarship halls at KU, with six on each side of West 14th street. Through all the halls, there are many differences between room types, kitchen types, and culture. However, we all love to get together and celebrate at each other's events, whether they include dancing, free food, singing, or some other fun activity. Watkins in particular always tries to show up at our sibling hall events.
Battenfeld Scholarship Hall opened 1940 and is Watkins' brother hall. While they have their semesterly events like Casino Night or Big Deck Party, we also have many Trivia Nights, Lake Day, and Karoke Nights together. We also compete with them in the All Scholarship Hall Olympics.
Miller Scholarship Hall opened 1937 and is Watkins' sister hall, and other than attending their yearly events like their Haunted House or Joe's Place, we also share many movie or craft nights. Watkins also shares the same kitchen type as Miller.
The All Scholarship Hall Council (ASHC) serves to lead all of KU's Scholarship Halls, particularly providing guidance with each hall's executive teams, the funding each hall receives, and with any legislative changes from KU housing. They are also in charge of the Co-Curricular Fund, where any individual from the scholarship halls can make a request to receive up to $500 each semester to fund non-emergency things like studying abroad, trips for school, or a camera for your major.
